ABSENCES:

AFTER-SCHOOL REHEARSALS: DROP HALF LETTER GRADE (if a student misses more than 3 rehearsals or 6 hours of after school rehearsals without having an actual doctor’s note, he/she will not be able to march for the rest of the season; they will still need to participate during games & help out during performances to receive a grade in the class)

ALL PERFORMANCES: DROP TWO LETTER GRADES

ALL ABSENCES ARE UNEXCUSED UNLESS PERTAINING TO A DEATH IN THE FAMILY OR DOCTOR'S EXCUSE(parent note) FOR BEING SICK. ALSO, THE DIRECTOR MUST BE NOTIFIED AHEAD OF TIME BEFORE MISSING ANY REHEARSAL/PERFORMANCE IN ORDER TO MAKE IT AN EXCUSED ABSENCE IF PERTAINING TO A DEATH IN THE FAMILY OR DOCTOR'S EXCUSE(parent note) FOR BEING SICK. UNEXCUSED ABSENCES FROM PERFORMANCES/REHEARSALS CANNOT BE MADE UP.

IF A STUDENT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS/HER GRADES AND STILL HAS AN ATTENDANCE PROBLEM, THEN THE STUDENT MAY BE DROPPED FROM BAND CLASS.

TARDY POLICY:

TARDY: 5 POINTS OFF DAILY GRADE & FOLLOW THE STUDENT HANDBOOK PROCEDURES

LACK OF PROPER EQUIPMENT AND ATTIRE: 5 POINTS OFF DAILY GRADE

Tests may be given at anytime throughout the year. Test grades will be averaged in with participation grade & daily grade.

PARTICIPATION: 40%

PLAYING OR WRITTEN TEST: 40%

DAILY GRADE: 20%
