Christy Taylor Takes FIRST!!

Christy Taylor participated in the Drum Majorettes of America Tennesse State Championships, on May 3rd, at Carter High School.  Christy earned the title of Tennessee State Majorette Princess.  She also placed 1st in the following categories: 1 Baton, 2 Baton & 3 Baton, Fancy Strutting & Basic Strutting, Fashion & Gown Modeling.  And, she earned the DMA High Point Award.  Congratulations, Christy!!

TWO HHS STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE ETSBOA SENIOR CLINIC!!

 Congratulations to Danielle Carbonneau and Jeff McDonald!  They auditioned with hundreds of other East Tennessee students for a spot in the ETSBOA Senior Clinic; Danielle made the Blue Band and Jeff made the Green Band. February 7-9th, they performed with top composers and directors from around the country at the Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg, TN.  Participating in events like these work to help your child become a better musician, student and person.  NOW is the time to start thinking about and practicing for next year's auditions for Junior and Senior clinics!! 

Freshmen participate in Junior Clinic at South Doyle High School!

Several HHS band students participated, along with hundreds of other students from East Tennessee, in the ETSBOA Junior Band Clinic.  Congratulations to the students that auditioned and performed with their peers from surrounding schools!

TWO TWIRL TO FIRST PLACE!!

Congratulations to Christy Taylor and Hayley Choy!  They participated in the Duet Twirling Competition for Drum Majorettes of America and twirled away with 1st Place!!  They are the current title holders in the Tennessee State DMA Duet Twirling category as well as AAU 2007 Junior Olympic Gold Medalist's in Duet Twirling. 

Christy is also the Hoop Baton Gold Medalist for 2007.  And, she won the Thanksgiving Princess Title in North Carolina for DMA.  This event includes Baton Twirling, Fancy Stutting and Modeling Competition.
